Troupe des Personnes Handicapées TWUZUZANYE (THT) is an organization of persons with disabilities, founded in 2004. We began with a simple idea: theatre, drama and traditional dance can reach people that reports and speeches cannot.
Today THT brings together members with all types of impairments, and we advocate for inclusive policies, better services and an end to stigma.
What we do
Policy and budget advocacy
We review policies and budgets and give decision-makers practical recommendations for inclusion.
Awareness through drama
Our drama groups take powerful stories to communities to reduce stigma and discrimination.
Coalitions and partnerships
We work with national and international partners so disability rights are heard together.
Media and storytelling
Videos, radio, TV talk shows and social media carry our messages further.
Capacity development
We train grassroots groups of persons with disabilities to advocate for themselves and lead their own campaigns.
Inclusive health and SRHR
We advocate for inclusive health services and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) for persons with disabilities across Rwanda.
